Speak It Anyway

There are times when we don’t say the obvious.
Collectively, I am saying that time is over.
Those of you who know me personally know my values and beliefs. But I’ve come to realize that not everyone on here may know much about who I am and what I stand for. You only see those parts that I allow you to, and those glimpses are cautiously curated.
So let me make a few declarations about my website, my social media accounts and what you can expect when interacting with me. To borrow a phrase from my friends at LB GRRRL Collective, “This is not a space to debate the validity” of these declarations. If they aren’t in alignment with your beliefs, move on. There are many grimy corners of the internet that you can live in. This space I have developed is not one of them.
This space supports:
Black Lives
Trans Lives
AAPI Lives
Indigenous Lives / Land Back Movement
LGBTQIA+ Lives
All QTBIPOC rights
Disability Rights and inclusion
Immigrant rights
Police/Prison Abolition
Dismantling the patriarchy
Sustainability and climate change prevention
Local/grassroots organizing
Mutual aid
I live by Always Learning. I’m sure I will add to these categories as time goes on.
What grieves my soul is that all of these statements should be a given. It is shameful that spaces still exist in which people are excluded, harmed and made to feel uncomfortable.
I strive for a world in which everyone is accepted and celebrated for exactly who they are.
No masks, no fears, no judgements. Come as you are.
But until we get there, I have to say it.
It should be obvious, but I’ll Speak It Anyway.
